Amber
AvailableAmber is a large, yellow-and-tan mixed-breed female who’s about 12 years and 4 months old. She’s spayed and fully vaccinated. Amber is house trained and lives in Raleigh, NC. Her gentle, affectionate nature fits her senior status, though she’s still got flashes of youthful spirit.
About Amber
Amber’s sugar-splashed face may say senior, but don’t be fooled—she still tears around the yard at full tilt when she feels like it. After losing her longtime home, Amber is relearning how to trust, and she asks for a bit of patience and a calm environment to help her get settled. She prefers slow introductions, especially with new people or gentle dogs, and opens up over time—treats will definitely win her heart. Once she’s comfortable, Amber hands out kisses like candy and beams if you let her nap close by. She’s not interested in wild adventures, but she’ll happily patrol the neighborhood on leash and then snuggle up for a quiet movie night. In foster care, Amber has shown her playful, silly side, doing little tap dances to say hello and “talking” to share her feelings. She doesn’t care much for toys, but enjoys a good bone or a stick. She’s house trained and will let you know politely when she needs to go out. Crating isn’t her favorite, but she’ll tolerate it if she has to. Amber feels anxious when left alone but is growing more secure every week. A gentle back scratch in the grass is her idea of happiness. She does have a low-grade heart murmur, though her energy and athletic jukes suggest otherwise. Amber still has plenty of love, loyalty, and playfulness to offer the right person who understands her pace. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
