Adoption fee: $750 Meet Tchotchke: A Gentle Soul with a Heart Full of Love Tchotchke is an 8 year old, 19-pound Maltipoo with a soft, non-shedding coat and an even softer personality. She came to our rescue after her beloved owner passed away, and it’s clear from the moment you meet her that she was deeply cherished. Despite such a big life change, Tchotchke greeted our intake team with warmth, tail wags, and quiet confidence— proof of her resilient spirit and loving nature. She is the kind of dog who slips effortlessly into your daily routine, bringing calm companionship, gentle affection, and the comforting presence of a true best friend. Daily Routine & Lifestyle Tchotchke enjoys a relaxed, predictable routine that perfectly matches her easygoing personality. She typically wakes up around 9:00 am, heads outside for a short walk to take care of business, and then enjoys her breakfast once she’s back inside. During the day, she can usually be found lounging in her favorite spot on the couch, soaking up the sunshine or enjoying a peaceful nap. From time to time, she’ll wander over for a few pets and some quiet companionship before returning to her cozy resting place. She’s the definition of a content couch potato. Dinner is served around 6:00 pm, followed by another pleasant walk. Afterward, she settles in for a calm evening, relaxing alongside her people and enjoying the comfort of home. Personality: Sweet, Steady, and Comforting Tchotchke is a truly lovely dog with a gentle, affectionate nature. She opened up quickly when she first arrived, taking just a day to settle into her new environment and make herself at home. Before long, she had chosen her favorite spot on the couch and established herself as a calm, reliable companion. She loves to cuddle and be near her people, but she is wonderfully respectful of your space. She won’t demand constant attention or follow you everywhere— instead, she offers a quiet, reassuring presence. Whether she’s resting beside you, napping under a warm patch of sunlight, or simply keeping you company in the same room, she brings a sense of peace to the household. Tchotchke is the kind of dog who makes life feel a little calmer and a lot more comforting. Social Life with Other Dogs Tchotchke currently lives with a 6-year-old male Corgi and gets along very well with him. They coexist peacefully, each doing their own thing while sharing the home comfortably. She is friendly with other dogs and shows polite, relaxed manners during interactions. Energy Level & Play Style Tchotchke is proudly a member of the couch potato club. She prefers cozy naps, soft blankets, and sunny spots over high-energy activities. That said, she still enjoys her daily walks and appreciates gentle interaction with her people. She is happiest living a calm, comfortable lifestyle and makes an ideal companion for someone who values quiet companionship over constant activity. Walking & Leash Skills Tchotchke is a dream on leash. She walks politely without pulling or jumping and stays close to her person. She has a charming way of gently signaling when she’s ready to head home, making walks easy and enjoyable for everyone involved. She is also friendly toward other dogs she meets along the way. House Training & Home Manners Tchotchke is fully house trained and crate trained, with excellent manners around the home. Since arriving in foster care, she has had no accidents, demonstrating her reliability and good habits. She does not chew, dig, or engage in destructive behaviors. The only time she may bark is when someone rings the doorbell—simply her way of announcing visitors. Overall, she is an exceptionally easy dog to care for.
