Georgie…. Georgie was an owner-surrender case, and there is no question that he was neglected. He was approximately 20 pounds underweight, full of parasites, and crawling with fleas which lead to a terrible skin infection and hair loss. After a trip to the vet and lots of TLC, Georgie is gaining weight, his skin is healing, and he has become quite playful. We estimate Georgie's age at approximately two years old. Our guess in that he is a Newfoundland mix or Saint Bernard mix. His current weight is 91 pounds and climbing. He is 100% house trained and will sleep in a crate or not. He plays well with other dogs and would be best in a home with another large dog as he still wants to play like a puppy. He is learning how to be gentle with small, furry animals like cats. Georgie is very shy when meeting new people but warms up quickly, especially with a good belly rub or tail-end scratch. He is learning that snuggling with people is very nice, but he is also protective and will bark when needed. He is heartworm negative and is scheduled to be neutered, microchipped and vaccinated on April 1st (no joke!), and will then be ready for his new furever family!
