About Jacob
Jacob is a quiet, very shy young dog who is only beginning to understand that people can be gentle and safe. Because he’s had little direct contact with humans before now, new situations and sudden life changes leave him nervous and wary. His happiest moments are spent close to his comfort zone, where he feels most secure. Leashes and outings can be stressful for him, and he startles easily when pushed too far too fast. Around other dogs, Jacob’s personality comes out, and he really enjoys their company. He’s comfortable with canine companions and fits in well, although he may guard his toys. Jacob needs a patient, experienced adopter who can accept him as he is and give him the time and gentle encouragement to grow more confident. A household where someone knows the slower pace needed for a fearful dog will suit him best. Jacob will thrive with someone willing to let trust develop at his speed and help him find steady ground in a sometimes overwhelming world. His ideal home includes a secure, physically fenced yard. Jacob is about 1 year old, weighs around 40 lbs (with potential to grow), is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Ready to help him discover life’s brighter side?
