About Wylie

Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Wylie! Wylie is an 11-month-old, 67-pound Great Pyrenees mix who has flourished in foster care thanks to a structured routine and clear communication. This thoughtful, responsive young dog quickly adapts to consistency and is proving to be a quick learner with a strong desire to please. Wylie has done excellently with a neutral female dog — both dogs interact politely and respect each other’s boundaries. He is currently being introduced to other foster dogs in a slow, controlled manner. These meetings always incorporate obedience, and Wylie is eager to learn with each session. When outdoors, Wylie shines as a playful, friendly companion who enjoys socializing and communicates his excitement with play bows and happy vocalizations. Indoors, he remains calm and social in neutral areas, showing appropriate, relaxed behavior around other dogs. High-value rewards and praise work wonders for him during all new interactions. In areas he identifies as his own, such as his kennel or the office, Wylie can be a bit reactive, especially around barriers or perceived territories. This is not aggression, but rather a learned response. With the help of his foster mom, a dog trainer, he is already making impressive progress by responding quickly to commands and positive reinforcement. Adopters should know that similar behaviors might emerge during the first three months post-adoption, but these are easily managed with steady boundaries and consistency. Overall, Wylie is a smart, responsive, and promising young dog who will thrive best with continued structure, routine, and loving training to help him build confidence. He is crate trained, house trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
