Sweet Chicken came to us from a high kill shelter with his name. Honestly, we didn't like it, but once he got here, it was very obvious why he had been called that! He was afraid of everything, but is a total gentle giant! So, his name stuck, and we call him Chicken Little, Chicken Butt and Chicken Nugget. Chicken is underweight and we are working on that, BUT this boy is amazing! He gets along with everything and just submits when he is around any animal smaller than him. He just lays down and watches the smaller animal. He loves kids, cats, dogs and even was fine with the tortoises in his foster home. Chicken is potty trained, Crate trained, walks great on a leash, We are working on his fear of walking through doors and getting into cars, but he is making a ton of progress. This sweet boy just wants to be with his people! At your feet, by your side, you name it, he wants to be next you. Chicken is currently 63lbs and he needs to gain at least another 10lbs. When I say gentle giant, I mean he doesn't jump, he doesn't pull he just walks nicely beside you. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Chicken, is winning the dog lottery. We think that Chicken is pretty amazing and very special. We think that he is a golden retriever and some sort of hound.. He has the howl but so far only uses it when we ask him to speak! Chicken has touched all of our hearts and we will be looking for the very best home for him. The perfect family would be one that is home a lot, or can take him with them often! He would be fine in a home as the only dog, but he really perks up with another dog. He is great with all cats that he has met so far and he has done amazing with all sizes of dogs. He has met tiny puppies all the way up to a German shepherd. Chicken will also be neutered once we get him to a healthier weight!
