About Rocky

Rocky A183150 39 lb. neutered male, approx 4 years old -Timid and gentle boy -He walks nicely when he's walking, but tends to stop often and needs encouragement to get moving again. The world is new and scary it seems.šŸ˜ž -He is very skinny, has happy tail and seems he hasn't had an easy life so far. Let's change that for him! -He very much likes snacks!! He needs work taking them easy still as he is so very hungry. He'll get it! -Loud noises make him nervous, but despite all that...He wanted to sit by me the entire time! -I laid on the ground and he awkwardly slouched into an uncomfortable position to be close. I guided his front feet and as soon as I did he plopped next to me and snuggled up. He would have stayed there all day! If I stopped petting him he would paw at me gently or slowly pick his head up and nudge me. His tail slowly wagging the whole time. -He's a very sweet gentle boy who needs some groceries and a whole lot of time, patience and love! -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
