About Gravel
Gravel A183286 46 lb. neutered male, approx 1 1/2 years old -He's a handsome boy with beautiful markings and a heart full of love to give. On leash, he pulls a bit but is very manageable overall. -He's incredibly people-oriented and greets everyone with enthusiastic "hugs," happily jumping up to say hello. -In the yard, he enjoyed wandering and exploring, but his favorite place is right by your side--if you sit on the floor, he'll climb right into your lap, and if you're in a chair, he'll try to join you there too! -He's very affectionate and loves giving kisses -He's treat-motivated, will sit at times, and takes treats gently, though he may not always be focused on eating them. He showed he can follow cues, but became nervous with my squeaker. -He's not quite sure about toys yet and can be a little sensitive to new or sudden stimuli, so he'll benefit from a calm, patient environment where he can build confidence at his own pace. -Like many working-type dogs, he has some energy and awareness of his surroundings, which can show up as a bit of pacing when he's unsure. With time, consistency, and reassurance, he'll settle in and thrive. This sweet, affectionate boy just needs a little patience to feel safe--and once he does, he'll be an incredibly loyal and loving companion. -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
