Porter is ready to find his next chapter. Porter is a young bluetick coonhound mix born to Dolly Parton, a sweet hound mama who came into our program last fall. He has been raised in a home environment and is well socialized with other dogs. Porter already understands what it means to be part of a family and is ready to settle into one again. He is friendly, affectionate, and enjoys being around people and canine companions. He loves kids, but like many young hounds he doesn’t always realize his size and can jump when he gets excited, so he’ll benefit from a family willing to continue working with him on polite greetings. Like many hounds, Porter is curious, smart, and happiest when he has room to explore and a family to follow around. Because of his breed traits, Porter would do best with a family familiar with hounds or willing to learn what makes them such special companions. Porter is fully vetted and ready to go home.
