Meet Oscar Grouch Oscar Grouch is a young black, curly-coated Shih Tzu mix, about 1-2 years old, with a story that hasn't always been kind to him. Whatever he experienced in his past left him unsure of the world, and especially unsure of people. Because of that, Oscar can be very defensive and untrusting, and he may bite when he feels scared or threatened. Oscar isn't a "starter dog," and he's not the kind of pup who will instantly warm up to strangers. He will need a very patient, understanding home with experience handling reactive or fearful dogs-someone who can read his body language, respect his boundaries, and give him the time and space he needs to slowly build trust. He does not like his boundaries crossed and prefers to come to people on his own terms. For everyone's safety and comfort, Oscar is looking for a quiet home without cats or small children. The ideal family will understand that progress may be slow, but incredibly meaningful. Dogs like Oscar often form deep, loyal bonds with the people who give them the chance to feel safe for the first time. Oscar is heartworm positive and will need an adopter committed to continuing his care and treatment. Despite everything he's been through, he absolutely loves being outside and finds comfort in fresh air and open space. Underneath his tough exterior, Oscar is a very sweet dog who simply learned that the world wasn't always safe. With the right person-someone compassionate, experienced, and committed-Oscar has the potential to discover that people can be kind, and that home can be a place of peace. Oscar Grouch isn't looking for a perfect home. He's looking for the right one-a patient heart willing to give a misunderstood dog the second chance he deserves. Adoption fee is: $300 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs.
