About Pepper
Pepper is around 10 years old and spent most of his life outdoors, working as a hunting dog before arriving at the shelter. His previous owner chose not to reclaim him, and now he's looking for someone willing to give him the stability he's never known. At about 80 lbs, he's a large fellow with a strong independent streak. Pepper isn’t housetrained, but he uses the fenced yard reliably and enjoys walking on a leash, especially with volunteers. He isn’t cuddly and doesn’t seek out attention—instead, he's happiest sniffing around and patrolling the yard. Pepper is dog selective and must meet any potential canine housemates first. He’s not suited for a home with cats. Pepper never lived indoors or got to be someone’s companion, so he needs patience and understanding to help him adjust. He may not fit everyone's idea of the perfect pet, but for the right person, he could finally feel at home. Your new best friend is just one click away.
