He’s the perfect blend of energetic explorer and devoted lap dog, always happiest when he’s near his person. Daily Routine Iggy starts his day bright and early around 7am, heading outside right away for potty time followed by a nice walk in the park. He absolutely loves taking in all the smells and exploring the world around him. After his morning outing, he returns home for food and water (he prefers to graze throughout the day). Once he’s completed his “security sweep” of the house, he settles into his fluffy bed for a well-earned nap while his person works nearby. Midday brings a shorter walk or some backyard wandering, and in the evening he’s ready for another walk to stretch his legs. Iggy enjoys his exercise but doesn’t need anything extreme— he’s just as content exploring a yard as he is strolling through the neighborhood. Personality & Affection Iggy is deeply devoted to his person. He thrives on closeness and affection— whether that’s being held, snuggling beside you, or burrowing under a blanket to stay warm. If you’re cozy, he will absolutely join you. He has an adorable way of standing up on his hind legs to ask to be picked up, and he gives the sweetest little kisses to show his love. He warms up quickly and becomes an incredibly loyal and affectionate companion. Gentleness is key with Iggy— he’s a sensitive boy who responds best to a calm, loving approach. Exercise & Energy Don’t let his small size fool you— Iggy has a fun, energetic side and truly enjoys his daily walks. He handled a mile-long walk with ease and likely would have kept going if given the chance! That said, once he’s gotten his energy out, he settles beautifully and is more than happy to curl up and relax for the rest of the day. Home Life & Training Iggy is well-mannered in the home. He hasn’t shown interest in chewing household items or digging in the yard. He’s comfortable being left in a larger gated area and does well when given space, though he may vocalize a bit if confined in a smaller pen. Handling Notes Iggy can be sensitive and may react if startled or if he feels uncomfortable— particularly with unfamiliar handling. However, once he trusts you, he can be guided into a crate more easily (especially with treats and a gentle approach). Because of this, he would do best with an adopter who is patient, understanding, and respectful of his boundaries as he continues to build trust. Dog Social Skills Iggy gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He currently lives with a 50 lb dog and absolutely loves her— they run and play together in the yard and enjoy going on walks side by side. He would likely thrive in a home with a friendly canine companion or be happy as a solo dog with regular social opportunities. Ideal Home Iggy is looking for a patient, loving adopter who will give him the time and kindness he needs to fully blossom. In return, he will offer unwavering loyalty, endless cuddles, and the sweetest little kisses. He doesn’t need someone home all the time, but he does appreciate companionship and being included in daily life. A calm, gentle environment where he feels safe will help him shine. Why We Love Iggy It’s impossible not to fall for Iggy’s charm—whether it’s the way he pops up onto his hind legs asking to be picked up or how he melts into you for snuggles. He has such a pure, loving heart and forms deep bonds with his people. Iggy is truly a special little dog who deserves the absolute best—and he’s ready to give his whole heart to his forever human.
