He showed some mild nervousness, including lip licking and a bit of back-and-forth movement-occasionally stepping away before returning to the front. He appeared slightly unsure of the leash at first but ultimately allowed leashing without issue. Leash Skills: Salami walked with minimal pulling on leash. Once outside, he spent time sniffing and exploring but would check in with his handler intermittently. Sociability: In the yard, Salami was initially a bit nervous but began to open up nicely as he became more comfortable. He allowed all handling and frequently sought out attention, even jumping up in an appeasing manner at times. As he settled in, he became more social and engaged. Salami appears to be on the thinner side but accepted treats gently and with enthusiasm. Toys and Play: Salami showed interest in toys, happily carrying around a stuffed toy. He would trade it for a treat and enjoyed chasing after it when tossed. Returning to Kennel: Salami returned to his crate easily with no issues. Color: experienced gold Per staff 03/17/2026: During intake Salem started off low to the ground with a tucked tail and avoidant. After I offered hot dogs he started warming up coming up to me for more food, low tail wags, and became more relaxed. Became slightly tense when doing physical but when shown more hot dogs loosened up. Allowed for vaccines to administered with cream cheese on the door. When doing the microchip the ACA attempted to do a bear hug however Salem avoided, we put a muzzle on and Salem allowed the chip to be inserted. Per staff 03/17/2026: Was in his crate in the eval room. When I saw me, he lowered himself to the floor with soft eyes, loose body, and giving small tail wags. I approached his crate and he stood and came to the front, was very loose and wiggly. I gave him a peanut butter treat which he took gently. Per staff 03/17/2026: While making enrichment in the Eval Room, Salem was in his crate and was laying down most of the time. When I spoke to him in a baby voice, he would sit up, his ears would go forward, and he would give low tail wags with soft eyes. He took treats through the bars and did a few tippy-taps with ears back, soft eyes, loose body and low tail wags. Per staff 03/17/2026: During my morning walk through Salem was in the back of his crate with wide eyes, tense body, tail tucked and ears to the side. As I got closer to the crate he began to low growl. I tossed a treat in and he army crawled to eat it. his tail came up tucked, stayed down and fluttered. When I came back into the eval room and ACA was attempting to get him out to move him into a clean crate. I offered the ACA treats and they were able to leash him. He came out slowly with body crouched, wide eyes and tail tucked. Used a treat trail to get him from one crate to another. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
