Roy is a 1-year-old Malinois mix with a curious, independent spirit and a soft, gentle heart. He came to us as a stray—though it seems he may have had a collar before, no one came looking for him. Roy is a thoughtful explorer who enjoys taking his time to sniff, investigate, and wander at his own pace. He can be a little timid and cautious at first, especially with new people, handling, or sudden movements, but with patience and gentle introductions, he warms up and shows his affectionate, wiggly side. He enjoys treats and will happily engage when he feels comfortable. This sensitive guy would do best in a home with experienced handlers who understand dogs who need calm, slow introductions to new people, places, and situations. He is tolerant and gentle with other dogs, especially when introductions are managed carefully, but is happiest with the ability to explore independently as well. Roy is not recommended for homes with young children at this time.
