Meet Millie! Millie may be small, but her story is one of incredible resilience. This sweet little girl had a heartbreaking start to life. She was found living in a yard with more than 20 of her siblings, without even the basic necessities to survive. Eventually, the state stepped in, removed the dogs from the property, and filed cruelty charges. From there, Millie was taken to a high-kill shelter where, sadly, her life was nearly cut short. When the time came for her to be added to the euthanasia list, a volunteer who had just met her couldn’t let that happen. With only minutes to spare, they stepped in to foster her giving Millie the second chance she deserved. Today, she’s safe, loved, and thriving in her foster home. Now let’s talk about the real star...Millie herself. Millie isn’t your typical young husky. Because of her past, she can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she warms up quickly. She’s incredibly well mannered, calm, and gentle a true little love bug who is just beginning to learn what it means to be happy and cared for. She’s doing wonderfully with potty training and kennel training, and she rests quietly in her crate without a peep. Millie also absolutely loves other dogs, and they help boost her confidence. Her dream home would include another friendly pup, or at least regular opportunities to socialize with doggy friends. As of March 17, Millie is estimated to be about 1 year old and currently weighs 27 pounds. She’s a tiny husky girl and could still use a little extra weight. Her ideal home is simply one filled with kindness and patience.
