Animal Information: Dash is an estimated 6-month-old, 10lb terrier/chi mix that came into the shelter as a stray with his brother, Henry. The shelter staff said Henry is always eager to say hello when they walk by the kennel. He has been easy to handle and friendly with people and other dogs. Foster Profile: Dash is a gentle soul, but has a playful, rough-and-tumble side too. He's a dog that loves company, and will always seek out a lap, a dog, or someone one to hang out with. Dash is playful with other dogs, and although he is still learning to pick up on some social cues, he is generally respectful of boundaries. He is doing well with potty training with regular trips outside and positive reinforcement. He sleeps through the night in a crate, though can be startled by unexpected sounds or movements on occasion. We suspect that this will subside as he adjusts to his environment. Dash loves to go on walks and explore outside - as he is still a puppy, the world is very new to him and he just likes to watch everything go by. He is very smart and we've been pleasantly surprised by how quickly he is learning to understand commands and expectations. He is very food motivated and eager to please, so that helps with training. Dash is a loving, lovable, and fun little boy who would be great in a family with kids or another dog.
