About Lou
Lou is a 1.5-year-old Heeler/Terrier mix with a goofy spirit and a lot of heart. At about 32 pounds, heās eager to join an active home where adventure, steady companionship, and belly rubs are part of the daily routine. Lou thrives on hikes, chasing tennis balls, and play sessions with other dogsāespecially bigger onesābut heās just as happy curling up next to you for a nap, accompanied by his endearing sleepy sounds. Heās smart and a quick learner, picking up a long list of commands and thoroughly motivated by treats. Lou is fully potty trained, does well in his crate overnight, and enjoys chewing on toys (redirect those to non-shoes, just in case). His exuberance sometimes leads to leash pulling or sampling things off the ground, but heās easily guided back to focus. Lou can be wary of unfamiliar people and noises, often sticking protectively close to those he loves. He truly bonds with his humans and would do best in a quiet homeāpreferably outside the cityāwithout children. Lou has been working hard to overcome resource-guarding behaviors, and his future family should keep up with his positive training. Heād love a confident dog sibling to romp with, but homes with smaller dogs or small animals arenāt the best fit. If youāre looking for a spirited, loyal companion who will make you laugh and snuggle up by your side, Lou is ready to settle in with someone who understands dogs like him. Louās fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered; his adoption fee is $500. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
