About Lilac
Lilac and her daughter Lizzie are a uniquely bonded mother-daughter pair searching for a compassionate, patient home that will welcome both of them together. They spent their entire lives confined in a puppy mill used for breeding, deprived of normal social experiences and human affection. When they first entered rescue, both were understandably shut down and fearful, seeking safety in the corners of their room, unused to kindness or routine. Over several months, both Lilac and Lizzie have made progress in trusting people. Lilac, at age eight, is especially timid and still startles easily, but she never shows aggression and will accept gentle attention with time. Lizzie, at five, is slightly braver and will approach people when she feels secure. Their personalities come out slowly, but it's clear they’re both sweet and gentle at the core. These two must be adopted together—they draw strength from each other's presence and depend on their bond for comfort. They’re best suited to a calm, quiet household that can provide consistency and plenty of patience, allowing them space and time to adapt and gain confidence. A securely fenced yard is nonnegotiable; both are flight risks due to their fearful backgrounds. Homes with young children or cats aren’t a fit, as noise or activity can easily overwhelm them. Lilac and Lizzie have endured more than most dogs ever should. With patience and understanding, they’ll continue to blossom into loving companions. Give them the chance to learn what home truly means. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
