To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Salazar is a lovely 6 year old spayed female cat, up to date on vaccinations. She needs to be the only pet in the home. Here’s what her foster volunteer says about her: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Salazar is one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever met. Once she gets to know you, she loves to be with you and rub against your legs. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes, she loves being pet, especially under her chin. She loves to rub her head against any hard surface or corner of a wall to get that good scratch. If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? She loves being pet on her back, under her chin, on top of her head, and even her tail, if u run your hand down it. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? No, but if you touch her paw for too long she’ll move it back to stop you from touching them. Does the cat come on your lap? She hasn’t yet, the closest she’s gotten to that is sitting on the arm chair of the chair I was sitting in. She seems to like being in your company more than being snuggled up against you. Does the cat like to be held? I haven’t tried yet, so I’m unsure. Does the cat sleep in your bed? She likes to sleep downstairs in the room where her carrier and cat tree are, and she’ll literally sleep in the carrier and in the house on her tree. Does the cat seek your attention? Yes! She loves attention and will meow or chirp at you for pets, but she won’t be annoying about it by constantly bothering you. Does the cat like to play? Yes she does! What are the cat's favorite games and toys? She loves the laser the most, she really hasn’t shown any other interest in other toys. How vocal is the cat? She is not super vocal, the most vocal she’ll ever be is when she’s asking for attention. Her first day here she was meow-crying for about an hour, but then she settled in and quieted down. She’s quiet the whole night and will not wake you up in the morning because of meowing. What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Meows, chirps, and little squeaks. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes, she has a cardboard floor scratcher, and she also uses the scratch post on her cat trees Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, always. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? She’s on 1/4 of a cup Hills Science diet dry food. Is the cat picky about food? No, but she likes treats and food with chicken flavor. What is the cat's favorite treat? Right now it’s friskies party mix treats in chicken flavor. Shake that bottle and she’ll come running. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No, she’s never swat at me. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No, never. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No, never. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No, never. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? She’s fearful around new people and she’ll hide behind either a hutch or stereo that’s in our downstairs living room. She has to get to know you first, and once she becomes comfortable around you she’s the best little buddy. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? She’s currently the only pet in the house besides a fish, and she surprisingly doesn’t pay that much attention to it. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? She loves to just randomly lie back on the ground and roll around and show her belly. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? She has the sweetest personality, she’s not super vocal, and she enjoys her space and much as a person enjoys theirs. She’s able to self soothe and entertain herself. If you’re looking for a companion that wants to be with you but not super dependent on you, Sal is the one. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? The only challenges we’ve had is her being fearful and hiding, but if you’re patient and work with her to help build her confidence, she’s able to overcome anything.
