About Nixie
Nixie is an enchanting four-year-old Tortie with a medium-length, fluffy coat that glows with orange and black when the light hits just right. Her round face and light green eyes give her an expressive, soulful look, while a tiny orange 'soul patch' graces her chin. After her previous owner fell ill, Nixie ended up with a family member in North Hollywood. She's been through her share of disruption, but she still has plenty of spunk and affection. Nixie needs an adopter who understands cats—ideally with experience—because she needs time and space to come out of her shell. She likes attention on her own terms and finds comfort high up (the top of doors is a favorite spot). While she loves to cuddle once she trusts you, Nixie should be the only cat in the home and really can't live with young kids. Teens are fine if they let her move at her pace. She never jumps on kitchen counters but she does have a mischievous streak and will gladly 'play checkers' by patting game pieces off the table. Nixie hates nail trims, so mani/pedis aren’t her thing. If you’re looking for a playful, smart cat who gives the best cuddles when she feels safe, she could be your match. Ready to meet her? How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Nixie, like most Domestic Medium Hair cats, does not require outdoor space as long as she has plenty of safe indoor activities and climbing opportunities. She would be happy inside with toys, perches, and quality time.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
