About Callahan
Callahan is a big, affectionate cat who's been through a lot in his seven years. He came in with painful injuries thought to be burns or road rash, and it took nearly a year for his wounds to heal. Through all the vet visits and recovery—much of it spent wearing a cone—Callahan stayed friendly, affectionate, and easy to handle. Once his food allergies were identified and managed with the right diet and medication, his condition improved dramatically. He's now comfortable, his fur is filling back in, and he seems relieved to be without the cone after such a long time. Callahan is FIV+ but does well around most other cats, especially females. He’s mellow, prefers lounging in soft beds, birdwatching from the window, and curling up for long naps. He recently had dental work and an EKG for his heart murmur; he’ll need to stay on daily heart medication and have an annual checkup, but his spirits are good and he’s in stable health now. He’s considered a forever foster, with his ongoing medical care covered by St. Bonnie’s, so anyone interested in Callahan should be comfortable giving oral medication daily. Guidance will be provided on his care. What matters most to him now is a calm home where he can finally relax and enjoy a life of comfort and care. Visitors tend to fall in love with him on the spot, and it’s easy to see why. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
