About Yuzu
Yuzu came to the rescue with the odds stacked against him—rough beginnings, battered teeth, dirty fur, and some hard lessons from life in a hoarding environment. He’s a four-year-old orange-and-white tabby with expressive eyes that pull you right in, and after a long period of neglect, he’s finally gotten the care he needed: dental surgery, antibiotics, baths, and a chance to just eat and rest. His recovery has been remarkable, and his personality is just as bright and tangy as his name suggests. Yuzu is loving and vocal, known for his silly antics when he's coaxed down from his perch for medications, and he truly perks up around people. Though he's not the biggest fan of other cats, he tolerates their company and prefers to keep watch over his world from up high. He’s good with children, and his playful energy makes him a worthy playmate for a kid who wants an active buddy. Diagnosed with Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), Yuzu has inspired the rescue to offer a "Forever Foster a Feleuk Kitty" program to help with his ongoing care costs. Born February 13th, that makes Yuzu an Aquarius—and it shows in how he quietly defies the odds. He’s fully neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and now house trained, living in Grand Rapids, MI, and ready for a real home where he can enjoy the love and stability he's never had.
