About Chicky

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Chicky (Chicken Nugget), one of the fabulous quartet of kittens who have captured many hearts at the sanctuary. As part of a closely bonded group transferred from another shelter, Chicky’s early days were filled with playful companionship, having been bottle-raised since he was just two weeks old. Together with his pals Tater, Penni, and Stormie, he has spent much of his young life as part of a lively, joyful clowder. Although only some of the group are biologically related, all four formed strong bonds after being housed together, and Chicky, Tater, and Stormie share a diagnosis of Feline Leukemia (FeLV+), a fact that hasn’t slowed their playful antics one bit. Chicky has faced more than his fair share of medical challenges, including dental treatment and other kitten health concerns, but he’s always bounced back with spirit and energy. Every needed vaccine, test, and treatment has been provided to ensure his well-being. Note that he cannot be separated from his best buddy Tater, as the two boys are strongly bonded and must be adopted together. While Penni and Stormie enjoy independence and can go to homes with other playful cats, Chicky and Tater’s friendship is unbreakable and truly a joy to witness. Living with FeLV does carry potential health risks and may shorten lifespan, but the love and joy Chicky will bring is immeasurable. The rescue's program is designed to make adopting a FeLV+ cat accessible and worry-free, covering non-routine lifelong medical needs as long as care is maintained at Dr. Jen’s clinic. Removing financial barriers lets these deserving kittens finally have the home life they dream of, giving them the happiness, comfort, and love they’ve never truly known. With their vibrant personalities and heartwarming stories, these special cats are waiting for their forever family. If you or someone you know could offer Chicky and his bonded brother a forever home, you’ll not only gain wonderful companions, but help the rescue open space for more cats in need. Chicky is ready to start his next adventure with someone who will cherish him for however long his journey may be. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
