About Tater
Tater is part of a memorable group dubbed the Fab Four, who landed in Grand Rapids, MI as a transfer from another shelter. This bonded crew arrived together as kittens, all testing positive for Feline Leukemia except for one. Tater himself was born in early July 2024, making him a Cancerāno surprise heās so playful and affectionate. Shelter life is a world apart from a cozy home, and despite their virus status, Tater and his friends show none of the wear you might expect. They chase, wrestle, and nap together, mischievous and full of energy. Tater and his best buddy Chicky must go home as a pair. Theyāre inseparable and keeping them together is non-negotiable. The rescue is careful to inform adopters that Feline Leukemia can cut a catās life shorter than average, sometimes dramatically so. Nobody here hides this, but in the meantime, Tater is as happy and healthy as the staff can make him. Heās up to date on vet care and will need regular medical checkupsāand while adoption requires some financial commitment, his medical costs outside routine care can be covered by the rescueās foster program as long as you continue with their partnering vet. Tater lives easily with other cats and gets along with children, making for a gentle, confident companion. Applicants must fill out an adoption application and meet with the rescue before taking Tater and his buddy home. If youāre ready for an affectionate pair who deserve a true home, Tater is waiting.
