About Buddy And Bandit
**Please read Buddy + Bandit's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet our dream team bonded seniors: Buddy + Bandit! Bandit is a 10-year-old Boxer mix, weighing 75 pounds (as of 12/28/25) while his brother, Buddy, is a 10-year-old Husky mix, weighing 65 pounds (as of 12/28/25). These Southern Gents from South Carolina were surrendered when their owner's living situation changed dramatically. While they will always appreciate their previous home, these fellas are looking for their next fur-ever home to enjoy their senior years! Their foster shares that Buddy is very outgoing and friendly. He loves to play in short periods and nap. He is very affectionate and loves to be right next to someone or Bandit. He has a spunky personality and will let you know if wants or doesn’t want something. Buddy loves to be brushed, too. Bandit is more reserved than Buddy, but he is just as affectionate. He loves to be pet and to chew on bones. Bandit is definitely the more sleepy of the pair. Unlike Buddy, Bandit is not as picky. He stays in place and eats anything you give to him. Both dogs are house trained, but would do best with a fenced in yard and a dog door for them to come and go as they please. Buddy loves to be outside while Bandit prefers to be bundled up inside. They are both good with dogs and new people. They love to lay together and will nap in one bed instead of their own. Buddy + Bandit go together like mac and cheese, so they'd love to find a home that's excited to have two dogs! Even though they already have a built-in bestie, both dogs have lived with dogs of all sizes. When it comes to kids, Bandit's mom says they're also good with kids! In fact, don't be surprised to see your kiddos snuggling up with them every night instead of you. No hard feelings! Buddy + Bandit are also great on leashes, crates and are friendly to all strangers! Both dogs enjoy being close to their humans and especially love being pet. They also ride well in the car! Bandit's foster describes him as "well-behaved and calm." Just like his name, Bandit likes to keep things mysterious. It's like when your grandpa talks about his childhood and you can't tell whether it's a funny or sad story because his face hasn't changed the whole time. That's Bandit! Buddy, on the other hand, is the more dynamic of the duo with his animated and excitable nature. While Bandit loves staying indoors with the warmth, Buddy prefers to lay outside in the cooler weather with his thick, beautiful coat. During car rides, Buddy often gets excited for a long drive, while Bandit lays down to chill. Buddy's one caveat is that he prefers a home without cats as, even in his old age, he hasn't found a cat he didn't want to chase! These two are like peanut butter and jelly with their differences, but are the best combo! Become their new bestie and adopt them today! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $795] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
