About Leesa

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Leesa's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Leesa, The Genius Athlete with a Lap-Dog Soul! She's a 2.5-year-old Hound / Boxer mix, who's also a bunch of many amazing breeds! We might not know which, but we love her anyway! This affectionate girl thinks she’s a lap dog, even though she’s approx. 70 lbs. (as of 3/13/26). Leesa was surrendered by her owners when she was a baby, so she's looking for a fur-ever family that will give her the good life! Are you looking for a companion who is equal parts "Ivy League Scholar" and "Olympic Gymnast," with a PhD in Professional Snuggling? Then Leesa is the perfect pup for you! She's a stunning beauty with mesmerizing amber-green eyes and a heart even bigger than her frame. The Brains & The Beauty Leesa isn’t just another pretty face. She is an exceptionally bright, food-motivated girl who thrives on mental engagement. The Student: She is already crate and potty trained and has been practicing her foundational skills in foster care. The Trickster: She’s so smart she’s ready for the "Advanced Placement" track—she’s fully capable of learning complex tasks like operating light switches or fetching specific items. The Hobbyist: When she isn’t "working," she’s a connoisseur of stuffed animals, a food-puzzle enthusiast, and a dedicated neighborhood "people watcher." The Social Butterfly (With a Few House Rules) Leesa is a "big personality" dog who knows what she likes. To set her up for the ultimate success, her forever home should check a few boxes: A "Big Kid" World: Because Leesa is 70lbs of pure enthusiasm and doesn't always realize her own size or strength, she is best suited for a home without children under 16. The "Only Child" or "Wrestling Partner": She would be perfectly content as your one-and-only, but she’d also love a canine sibling who matches her "rough-and-tumble" wrestling style. She needs a buddy who can handle her young-dog shenanigans with a laid-back attitude. No Felines, Please: Leesa finds cats just a little too interesting, so a strictly cat-free home is required. The Great Outdoors: Leesa is an athlete. She can jump short fences and baby gates with ease, so a secure environment is a must. She does have a medium-to-high prey drive, but don't worry—she’s been a star pupil in her training program for this, and we will provide her full "syllabus" to her adopters so you can continue her success! A World-Class Cuddler Don't let the 70lbs fool you—Leesa is a "lap dog" at heart. Her favorite place in the entire world is wherever you are. Whether she’s tucked into your side on the couch, resting at your feet while you work, or patiently waiting for a photoshoot (she loves a good outfit if cookies are involved), her loyalty is unmatched. If you are looking for a dog who will be your shadow, your hiking partner, and your best friend, Leesa is ready to meet you! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
