We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Onyx, 1 years old, spayed female, Pitbull, 36 pounds. She is in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS and is able to transport once an adopter is approved. Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. Onyx is a beautiful, loving, and energetic young pup—about 10 months old—who’s ready to bring fun and affection to her forever home! She’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly, with plenty of enthusiasm for life and an eagerness to learn. This happy girl loves to play with other dogs and brings 100% energy to every game! She’s learning how to recognize when her playmates are ready for a break, but her joyful spirit always shines through. Onyx has lived with a 40 lb Staffy and does great with similar-sized dogs. Her tail is constantly wagging when she meets new dog friends, and she’s very interested in saying hello. Onyx is fully house-trained and crate-trained. She’s used to being crated during the day and does wonderfully—she even goes in willingly during feeding time! She also knows how to use a doggy door, making potty breaks a breeze. Onyx walks calmly on leash without pulling and enjoys getting out and about. She would love an active home where she can get plenty of exercise, whether that’s walks, hikes, or backyard zoomies (which she does with adorable silliness!). While she hasn’t met kids or cats yet, we think she’d do best in a home with children 10+ due to her youthful energy. She’s affectionate and loves attention, but she’s not overly needy—just the right amount of cuddle bug after playtime. Onyx is a smart girl who’s food-motivated and responds well to training with treats. She’s still a puppy, so continued positive reinforcement and structure will help her grow into her best self. Her ideal home is with someone active who can include her in daily adventures, then snuggle up with her afterward. Onyx would do great with another playful dog or as the only dog soaking up all the love.
