About Buddy
Buddy (aka Buddy Boy) is all heart, all the time. He started out unsure—standing in the middle of a road, not knowing where to go after a hard goodbye with his former owner. With patience and kindness, Buddy has opened up into a playful, affectionate, and deeply people-focused companion. He's a mix of goofiness and gentle loyalty. Buddy enjoys backyard squirrel patrols, curling up in bed at night, and spending time with the people he trusts most. He’s happiest when he gets attention and affection, especially if he can share the couch or bed. This medium-energy dog knows how to balance play and downtime. He’s quick to learn new things and shines with positive reinforcement. He already knows “sit” and comes reliably in enclosed areas. Buddy is house trained and loves exploring on walks, though he’s still figuring out that shoes are for feet, not fun. Buddy has a soft spot for female dogs and gets along well with them. He prefers to avoid male dogs and isn’t suited for homes with cats. He’s looking for a person ready for a big sweet dog who wants to be close, snuggle, and stick by your side.
