Nice to meet you, I am Dawson! I’m a 10-year-old Pomchi (that’s Pomeranian and Chihuahua for those keeping track). I weigh about 13 pounds right now, though my doctor says my ideal “leading man weight” is probably closer to 8–10 pounds. So yes, a little health and fitness montage may be in my future. Think long walks, portion control, and a human cheering me on from the sidelines. If I’m being honest, my story feels a little like one of those quiet, heartfelt scenes at the end of a long episode the kind where you realize life didn’t go exactly how you planned, but there’s still a lot of love left in the story. My previous family loved me very much, but sometimes life writes chapters we don’t expect. They were heartbroken to surrender me, but it was the only choice they had. So now I’m looking for the next part of my story. But let me tell you the important stuff. I’m a really good dog. The kind who walks nicely on a leash. The kind who is happiest curled up in a lap. The kind who believes the best part of any day is simply being close to his people. I’m affectionate in that quiet, loyal way. If you sit down, there’s a very good chance I’ll find my way into your lap. If you’re moving around the house, I’ll probably follow along just to see what’s going on. I like being part of the scene. Right now I’m in foster care with lots of other dogs, and I do just fine with them. I coexist peacefully, no drama here. But if I’m being totally honest, I’m more of a people’s dog than a dog’s dog. I don’t need a canine co-star to be happy. A loving human is really all I’m hoping for. Cats? I’ve met them. I’ve decided they’re not particularly interesting, so I can live with them as well. What I’m really hoping for now is a quiet, loving home where I can spend my golden years doing what I do best: being someone’s loyal companion. Sitting in laps. Going for walks. Sharing peaceful moments on the couch.You know the simple scenes that make life meaningful. I’m also fully house trained and very polite about doing my business outside. I try to be the kind of gentleman you’d be proud to have around. The good news is I’m healthy and well cared for. I’m neutered, up to date on all my vaccines, and I’ll come with my health certificate. I’m even getting a dental so my smile is ready for my close-up.
