About Maxie

Maxie is a gentle senior Chihuahua/Pug mix who lost her home and had a tough journey before landing at the shelter. She came in heartworm positive and, after intensive treatment, she pulled through — she’s now heartworm negative. Maxie will need ongoing heartworm prevention and regular testing to keep her healthy going forward. She’s affectionate and loves being near people, ideally in a home where someone is around most of the time. Maxie gets along with dogs her own size and is cat friendly. For a calm home, older children (12 and up) are the best fit. Maxie enjoys slow walks and lounging with her people. She’s house trained and just wants to feel safe for her golden years. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
