We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable puppy. Popcorn is the kind of pup who snuggles in, loves you up and then puts his head on your shoulder breathing his warm puppy breath. He's so sweet and kind with every possibility open to him. That's the case unless a pup like Popcorn is in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great rescuers and fosters in Texas for saving our sweet boy from euthanasia. It got scarily close to Popcorn's euthanasia time when rescuers acted quickly to save this sweet guy's life. It was definitely through no fault of his own (this little guy is amazing!), it's all a matter of space. Popcorn came in at a very crowded time and was therefore given a short window in which to be rescued. After a scramble by our compassionate Texas rescuer (she has a soft spot for a really cute fuzzy guy with a great temperament!), Popcorn was pulled out of the shelter at the last second possible. His rescuer and shelter personnel haven't stopped raving about this cuddly lap-dog ever since. Popcorn is just 2 months old and a tiny 2 lbs (estimated to be approximately 8 - 10 lbs when full-grown) of pure love. This sweet as can be guy is a Chihuahua / Fox Terrier mix (as identified by Texas veterinarians...all we know for certain is that he's absolutely irresistible). Popcorn is the perfect size to take along just about anywhere a tiny and well-behaved dog is welcome. Popcorn is a perfect candidate to find his forever home in Colorado. If you're into backyard fun, Popcorn is your guy for play, fun and zoomies. And then, at day's end, there's nothing better for our tiny guy than cuddling on the couch with his favorite people for love and belly rubs. Popcorn would do well with dog-crazy retirees who have the love in their hearts for an active and absolutely irresistible pup. A younger family that works from a home-based office would be perfect as well. We feel that Popcorn is too social and sensitive a guy to be left alone for the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement / force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. It's one of the best ways we know for a family to bond with their new puppy. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Popcorn out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive trainers in your area. Popcorn has been fully vetted and vaccinated to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. Current research is clear that Popcorn is far too young to be neutered. When he reaches 1 year of age, it's far safer for him to be fixed. Farfel's is happy at that point to cover all costs toward his neuter. Popcorn will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 6/24/2026 but won't be ready to go to his new home until approximately July 7th.
