About Diesel
Diesel has made a huge turnaround from the starved backyard life he once knew. Now, he’s a striking and solid Dogue De Bordeaux, healthy and steady in both mind and body. The name Diesel belonged to his former life; he deserves something new, chosen by his future family who will give him real commitment. He was lucky enough to be rescued when someone spotted his thin frame and got him out, though city living wasn’t an option. Now, safe in rescue, Diesel is showing who he really is. He’s an impressively calm, affectionate boy—house trained, polite indoors, easy-going with other dogs (no matter their size), and comfortable meeting new people. At the vet, he’s patient. He doesn’t mind crate time and loves lounging on a mat or mattress. His favorite things are absolutely ear rubs and belly scratches. Diesel will need ongoing ear care for wax buildup, which is common for Mastiffs. He also needs a refresher on leash walking, but he picks things up quickly. Given his temperament and steady nature, he’d make a good fit for a family new to giant breeds, as long as they can offer structure and security. There are adoption requirements around age of kids, property ownership, and environment, especially since Diesel is a giant breed. Homes with young kids, renters, or slippery floors must plan accordingly. Diesel just needs a family prepared for a big, gentle companion who wants to leave the past behind.
