About Nati

Nati is a 1 year old, 25 pound female Shepherd/Xolo mix from Tijuana! Nati is a loving, affectionate, and intelligent pup. She also has the wiggliest butt and is a major cuddle bug! She has adjusted very well during her time in the big city. Nati enjoys cuddling on the couch, playing with her pup friends, and a good game of fetch. She is doing well understanding “sit”, “lay”, “shake” and working on other obedience training. During her time with her foster family, she had been working on transitioning off potty pads and on to full time out door potty time. To maintain the progress she will need a strict outdoor schedule and positive reinforcement (she will do anything for a treat!). Remember, in Tijuana, the WORLD was her potty. Nati is great on a leash! She is incredibly polite and looks to her human for encouragement when she feels nervous. She's working on pulling the leash and making great progress! Watch out for birds, that is the only thing that gets her to take off. She is curious about dogs and humans but has absolutely no reactivity. She doesn't even bat an eye at barking or aggressive dogs. Her forever family will need to continue working with Nati to reinforce and advance the progress she's been making. Nati is still getting used to the idea of the crate. She'd much rather relax in her bed or on the couch. In the crate, she can be mellowed out with a nice chewy. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with her favorite squeaky snake and puzzle toys with treats (SHES A GENIUS!). Nati is looking for a medium active family. She appreciates downtime (cuddles and naps) and active moments (outdoor walks/runs and puppy play dates)! She would do equally well solo or with a brother or sister. *Disclaimer* She is a vocal player with other pups (she's just so happy). Continued training on volume control is a must if you live in an apartment. Nati has yet to meet any children but has the most gentle disposition with adults and all dogs. We think she would make a great family dog, but controlled introductions and a watchful eye with small children is a must. She also explores the world with her mouth like a puppy (she's never got to be one!) so continued work to curb light bites would be important! Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply to foster/foster-to-adopt to adopt Nati, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies.
