Meet Athena! A 1 year-old Shepherd mix, weighing in at 60-ish lbs, and she’s as full of love as she is of zoomies! This playful, affectionate girl is looking for an active home that can keep up with her energy while also giving her the snuggles, structure, and patience every growing pup needs. Athena is potty trained, lets you know when she needs to go out, and is a smart cookie who already knows sit, stay, down, bed, paw, twist, and touch. She’s crate trained but doesn’t use her crate anymore—these days, she’s happiest lounging on the couch, her dog bed, or better yet, curled up on the bed with her humans (bonus: her snores are ridiculously cute!). She loves belly rubs, cuddles, fetch, toys, and RUNNING. She would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and, ideally, another medium/large active dog to romp with. Athena also does wonderfully with people, though she may need a moment to warm up when meeting new friends. This social girl loves being part of the action, but she also knows when to recharge with a nap. She’s still working on her leash manners, but with her smarts, treat motivation, and eagerness to please, she’s on her way to becoming a pro. Athena would do best in an active home—someone who can take her along on adventures and keep her engaged both physically and mentally. She’s not a match for a home with cats, but with the right family, she’ll be the perfect companion: goofy, loyal, and full of heart.
