His owner found new housing, but a no-pet policy forced them to make a heartbreaking choice. Derry was surrendered to an overcrowded shelter—confused, withdrawn, and eventually refusing to eat. We rescued Derry in October 2025 and he has been in foster care ever since. He’s quiet and mellow, affectionate with people, and gentle with other pets. It’s clear that he was well-cared for—he does not act or look like a 14-year-old senior at all! Senior dogs like Derry are the heart of our mission, and also the most overlooked. He has so much love left to give and is patiently waiting for someone to notice him.
