Dolly was first spotted walking alone in Newark on 10/12. A kind woman who saw her often reached out for help at the beginning of December, and thanks to our amazing colleagues, Dolly was safely trapped and brought in from the streets. After nearly two months on her own, she was finally safe. Dolly spent a little over a week decompressing in their home and proved to be the perfect houseguest. She is now with her wonderful foster, Leslie Prendergast, and is officially available for adoption! Dolly is settling in beautifully in her foster home, and we would love nothing more than to see her find the forever family she deserves. She is a calm, gentle soul who thrives on attention and affection. Recently, her foster mom welcomed a former puppy-mill mama who was completely shut down, and Dolly naturally stepped into the role of emotional support. The comfort and reassurance she gives is truly heart-melting — she is as sweet as they come. Dolly is a mellow girl who enjoys cuddling on the couch and simply being near her people. She isn’t looking to be a hiking buddy or high-energy companion — she’s happiest in a peaceful environment with lots of love. An older couple would be a wonderful fit, but she would also do well with a younger family, as long as they’re looking for a laid-back, low-energy companion.
