Gladys is a 5-year-old female listed as a Beagle, though we believe she may be a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Weighing just 25 pounds, she’s a petite, gentle girl with a low-to-medium energy level who is mostly calm and relaxed, until it’s time to play with her foster sibling. Gladys is good in the car and loves going along for the ride. She is almost housebroken and currently working on both crate training and her leash skills. While she would likely benefit from a fenced-in yard where she can safely explore, her easygoing nature would also allow her to adapt well to apartment living. She is very dog-friendly and would probably do best in a home with another dog to help show her the ropes. We’re unsure how she is with cats at this time, but she absolutely adores children of all ages. Gladys is truly the sweetest little soul. Although she’s 5 years old, she’s essentially a puppy at heart and is learning everything for the first time. From what we can tell, she may have spent much of her life confined to a cage and bred heavily, so she is just now discovering how wonderful the world can be. Because of this, she will need a patient and understanding adopter willing to teach her the basics and help build her confidence. She is already making progress in her foster home, and with consistency and love, she will continue to blossom.
