At approximately 4 years old and a petite 43 pounds, Yuki was brought to ACCT Philly as a stray after a kind finder described her as shy, friendly, and scared. And that description fits her perfectly as she has the softest, most gentle presence and seems to be quietly taking everything in. Yuki is incredibly sweet, but she also seems a little unsure of how to simply be a dog. It’s as if life has not given her many chances to just relax and enjoy herself. She looks to people for reassurance and melts with gentle attention. What makes her story even more tender, Yuki is clearly postpartum and actively lactating, meaning she had puppies very recently. While we do not know where her puppies are, it is clear she had them not very long ago. Now it’s her turn to be cared for as she recovers from the stress of these big life changes and losses. Yuki deserves a #FreshStart - one where she can heal, gain weight, feel safe, and finally learn what it means to just be someone’s beloved dog.
