About Koa
Meet Koa! This handsome 11-month-old Great Dane is all heart, all legs, and ALL teenage energy. Koa came to us when his college-student owner realized she didn’t have the time to give him the consistency he deserves. With lots of travel and bouncing between Rover stays, family, and friends, Koa hasn’t had much structure in his young life — but he’s soaking it up beautifully in his foster home. Like many adolescent Danes, Koa is in that “bratty teenager” phase. He’s sweet as can be, affectionate, and eager to please — he just needs guidance polishing those manners. The good news? He already knows sit and down, is crate trained, house trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and responds well to direction. He’s smart and ready to learn! Koa gets SUPER excited to see other dogs. He hasn’t had much experience, so his greeting style is best described as... enthusiastic He’s not aggressive in any way — just big, bouncy, and a little over-zealous. If another confident dog tells him “no thank you,” he’s very respectful. But if a dog runs? Well... he thinks it’s playtime! We’re actively working on his social skills and he’s making progress. He also LOVES toys and will happily entertain himself (or you!) with a good play session. After he burns off that puppy energy, he’s a total cuddle bug. ✠̈ Koa’s perfect home: Active family committed to continuing his training Giant breed experience required A securely fenced yard where he can safely zoom and stretch those long legs Koa is a wonderful young Dane who just needs structure, consistency, and a family ready to guide him into the amazing adult dog he’s going to be. If you’re ready to give this sweet, goofy boy the forever home he deserves, please email info@greatdanefriends.com . Let’s help Koa find his perfect match! *****Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love covers NC and surrounding states for adoptions. We require a fenced yard (exceptions made on a case by case basis - NO exceptions for puppies or deaf/vision impaired dogs - no invisible fencing), that stairs in the home be covered with some sort of slip resistant material to prevent injury, that all other animals in the home be up to date on vaccinations as well as spayed/neutered and that all dogs live inside as a part of the family. Our approval process consists of an application, vet and reference checks, phone interview and house check. Please email us for an application or if you have any questions.*****
