About Bailey
Bailey is a sweet, sharp, and big-hearted young dog who has waited too long for someone to see everything he has to offer. Coming from the Associated Humane Societies – Forked River shelter, he's cheered on daily by former staff and volunteers who know just how wonderful he is. Bailey is brimming with energy and intelligence—he’s quick to learn and eats up any praise and attention, eager to grow into a companion that makes his house proud. At about a year and a half and weighing roughly 50 lbs, Bailey needs a structured home where someone can give him consistent guidance and affection. He blossoms with clear boundaries, enrichment, and fun activities (he even loves a good run). Bailey gets along with other dogs, though he does best with slow introductions and respectful play. He is not a match for homes with cats. Older kids or adults will fit his style best, especially if they know how to channel his goofiness and drive into positive, active outlets. Much of Bailey's life has played out behind kennel doors instead of on a cozy family couch, and he craves everything that comes with “real” home life—walks, yard time, belly rubs, and bonding with his people. He formed a close bond with a 14-year-old foster sibling and always aims to please. Bailey is affectionate, bright, and so ready to find a family who will finally offer him the love and stability he deserves. Click apply to start the adoption process.
