About Keller

Keller is a black and white Shih Tzu whose gentle spirit really stands out. He’s about 8 to 10 years old and weighs around 10 lbs—a small dog with a big heart. Not long ago, Keller was found abandoned, tied to a tree in the pouring rain. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan alerted rescue and gave him a second shot. Despite a rough start, Keller is full of life and personality. He has advanced glaucoma and heavy pigmentation in each eye, so he’s most likely blind but may still detect shadows. He gets around well, learning the steps in the backyard on his first try and moving with a determined, high-stepping trot. Keller’s hearing is especially keen, and he doesn’t hesitate to announce himself—he can be vocal, so a house would suit him better than a condo or apartment. Keller gets along well with both dogs and cats but doesn’t depend on their company, so he’d be fine as an only pet. He naps during the day but perks up for meals and treats, always ready for a snack. Watching him navigate his surroundings is equal parts impressive and endearing. Keller will reward an attentive adopter with loyalty and affection. Click apply to start the adoption process.
