About Sherpa Throw
Sherpa Throw is a 2-3 year old, 80-pound yellow Labrador Retriever who came to safety after being found injured and flea-ridden inside a school in New York, NY. Months of dedicated medical care put him back on his feet, and now his bold, independent spirit can finally shine. Sherpa is energetic, clever, and exhibits the best traits of a working dog—he's focused, quick to learn, and has a strong drive to explore. While he enjoys people and is friendly with similar-sized dogs, most of the time he likes to keep himself busy with a job or a bit of adventure. Sherpa is still developing his social skills but responds well to structure and training. He’s currently enrolled at Instinct Dog Behavior and Training, excelling in scent work and learning better canine communication. If you adopt Sherpa, you'll receive eight free private training sessions—either in-person in NYC or virtually—giving you hands-on support and a successful handoff. House trained and up to date on vaccinations, Sherpa is seeking a foster or an adopter who can meet him locally or is willing to travel to New York. Virgos like Sherpa are famously diligent—he lives up to that reputation. Give him a job, and he'll give you his best. Your new best friend is just one click away.
