About Oliver Diamond
This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Oliver's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Oliver Diamond - a 1 and a half-year-old, Boxer mix, who weighs 50 pounds (as of 12/15/25). This handsome boy was found as a stray in Tennessee, along with his sister, Lucy Diamond (who's also adoptable!) When we found him, he had a broken leg and was sad and scared. Since entering our care, he's gone through multiple surgeries to save his leg and mobility and we're thrilled to say he's happy, healthy and finally ready to find his forever family! His foster shares: "Oliver absolutely loves people and wants to be touching you at all times (if possible)! He looks at you and listens with the most soulful and loving eyes. He's the best boy who is very willing to please. He knows basic commands, and has done great with this house training. He loves our 10 week old foster kitten, and while he's curious, he is gentle. He's met kids out on walks and been very sweet with them, too. This guy has so much love to give and is looking for his forever family who can show this guy what it means to find a loving home that is safe." And if you're a firm believer that two diamonds are better than one, even better! Together, Lucy and Oliver would add some sparkle and shine to your home! MEDICAL DISCLOSURE: Oliver has had three surgeries - the pins were rubbing and he was limping from the pins so they redid it. He has the rod, but zero residual issues. The vets office that has cared for Oliver states: We can not say for sure if Oliver will need any additional surgeries in the future. Every dog is an individual case. There is a possibility he will adapt and not need any further surgeries. We do believe that arthritis is an evitable given his previous injuries. *adoption fee has been reduced to $350* All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Oliver, you must fill out an adoption application. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
