About Coconut

Make their next chapter their best one yet. Meet Coconut (Coco for short), a sweet 8-year-old Maltese who is learning to embrace a new life outside of a commercial breeding kennel. Coco is discovering the wonders of being in a home—everything is new, from steps and open doors to the sound of a TV and even simple touches. After years confined to a cage, she recently had extensive dental work to remove 20 decayed teeth, was treated for double ear infections, and is now spayed and feeling healthier every day. Coco is still timid but shows improvement daily, learning to walk on a leash, go potty outside, and enjoy the company of her foster sibling. She loves gentle affection, and treats like liverwurst, chicken, and beef hot dogs have helped her grow braver. Coco is crate-trained for short periods, though overnight bladder control is still a work in progress. She will thrive with a patient adopter who understands that time, slow movements, routine, and lots of love are key. A calm canine companion and a fenced yard are both musts to help build her confidence as she settles in. Her fur is coming back beautifully, and with continued nutritious food and regular grooming, she'll soon blossom even more. Coconut is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, negative for heartworm, and on monthly preventative. Ready to give this resilient girl the safe and loving home she’s always deserved?
