About Cashmere
Cashmere, known as Cash, is a 7-year-old Maltese who spent her entire life in a commercial breeding kennel before being rescued. She’s new to living in a home and is slowly learning about stairs, leashes, and affection after years spent in a cage. Her foster mom notes that Cashmere recently had her last two teeth removed due to decay, and she’s on the mend from double ear infections. Adjusting to indoor life is taking time—Cashmere is tackling potty training with regular crate breaks every few hours and is still working up to dry nights. She craves gentle routines and plenty of patience and will do best in a home with a fenced yard and a calm companion dog to help her gain confidence. Though fearful at first, she’s starting to take food by hand, enjoys soft treats, and welcomes gentle petting. Cashmere is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for heartworm, and is on monthly prevention. Her soft coat is growing back and will continue to improve with care. If you are ready for a rewarding project and the loyal bond that comes with a mill rescue, Cashmere is waiting for a loving, patient adopter to show her what real home life can be.
