About Sage
Sage is a year-and-a-half-old Black Mouth Cur mix with a contagious zest for life and a serious love for anything new. She was adopted as a puppy, but when things changed for her previous family, Sage found herself back at the shelter—no fault of her own. Now, she's settled back into shelter life in Chestertown, MD and is eager to find a home that’s permanent this time. Originally a stray from Georgia, Sage missed out on a lot of socialization early on, so she finds the world endlessly fascinating. Every new experience—walks, people, places, and especially other dogs—fills her with excitement. She thrives with a patient adopter ready to help her channel that energy into positive outlets and teach her how to slow down and build confidence. Sage is quick to pick up on training and is as smart as she is enthusiastic. She’s not house trained yet, but she’s eager to learn and highly food-motivated. Sage gets along with both dogs and children, so she would fit into a variety of active families willing to put in the time. If you want a clever, lively dog who’s full of promise, Sage is ready to meet you. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
