Meet Kane, a remarkable soul who has transformed from a ghost of a dog into a happy, resilient companion! 🌟 He entered our lives through our Animal Law Enforcement team, emaciated and barely able to stand. But thanks to a lot of TLC from our volunteers and a dedicated clinic, Kane has blossomed into the fantastic dog he is today! ❤️ Kane has proven to be one of the smartest pups we've had the pleasure of knowing. 🧠 He adores learning and eagerly picks up new commands, delighting everyone around him. His playful spirit is absolutely contagious; he’s always ready for an adventure, and let me tell you, adventures are more fun with Kane by your side! 🎉 However, Kane carries a little bit of his past with him. He can be protective of his food, a behavior born from an experience of being starved. Can you blame him? 🥺 It takes time and love to regain trust, but with the guidance of our Behavior Manager and some fabulous volunteers, he is learning that sharing and approaching his bowl is met with nothing but love and kindness! 🥰 Every day, he gets better, and it’s such a joy to see him thrive. Kane needs a special home, one that understands his history and has previous dog experience, especially with resource guarding. He’s best suited for a home with teens or adults and would do wonderfully as the only pet (at least in the early days) while he adjusts to his new surroundings.
