About Marmoset
Marmoset is friendly, very, very energetic and wants to be the center of any attention that is being doled out. If you wait too long to notice her, she has been known to start playing with her foster mom's hair and back of her head (sometimes rather too energetically). Marmoset is extremely active at playtime with her siblings and wants to be the first to get the ball or mouse. She can jump high, loves to climb and purrs so loudly when held. This litter of kittens are neat eaters and have the best litter box manners! And if you are looking for a pair, Capuchin and Marmoset are best buds while Tamarin loves them but is a bit more independent.SPECIAL NEEDS: Lifelong over the counter lubricating eye drops 2 times per day. These kittens will take very special adopters but they are oh so sweet! They arrived with terribly infected eyes as two week old kittens that had to be bottle fed, besides their eyes, they have thrived in every way. Marmoset and her siblings saw a veterinary eye specialist as they were born without upper eye lids. Their fur was rubbing on their eyes and they had some vision loss from the early infection. Marmoset had cryotherapy on the upper lid of both eyes so the fur will no longer grow into her eye and cause further pain and distress. Over their lives, their vision may worsen but it will happen slowly over time and they are so risilient they will adjust. Meet these special babies, Capuchin, Marmoset and Tamarin by completing our adoption application or attending our adoption event on Saturday, 12-4pm, at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd. All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
