Winston is a 5-year-old, neutered Australian Shepherd with a loving heart and a joyful spirit — and he's ready to find his forever home! Winston was saved by a rescue partner just before Snowpocalypse 2026 and soon transferred to ASF when that rescue became overwhelmed. Since then, he has truly blossomed in foster care. Dog-Friendly & Social While with our rescue partner, Winston lived in a foster home with eight other dogs. He was introduced one-by-one and did beautifully, settling in quickly and proving just how adaptable and friendly he is. He is NOT aggressive or reactive with other dogs at all. In fact, he loves canine companionship! During play he can come on a little strong — not out of dominance, just pure enthusiasm — but he responds very well to correction and guidance. Smart & Trainable Winston is VERY smart and already knows: Sit Stay Down Give Paw Off Back And likely more! He listens well, learns quickly, and would thrive with continued training and regular exercise. Fetch is one of his absolute favorite games, and he would love an active home that enjoys playtime and engagement. Home Life Fully potty trained Sweet and confident with men and women (even those wearing hats!) Tested with cats — curious but not aggressive Loves to cuddle and would happily sleep on the bed with you At home, Winston is a true cuddlebug. After a fun day of activity, he's ready to snuggle up and soak in the love. Alert but Not Reactive Winston is naturally alert and will let you know if something unfamiliar is going on — making him a wonderful little watchdog without being reactive. ‍‍‍ Ideal Home Winston can show some herding tendencies with children when he gets excited, so he would do best in a home with Aussie-savvy teenagers or adults who understand the breed's instincts and energy.
