Woofie is a large, young, male Shepherd/mixed breed who is house trained and neutered. He is up to date on vaccines and is currently located at Black Dogs and Company Rescue, Inc. With his big heart, he is looking for a patient home ready to help him continue gaining confidence and social skills.

About Woofie

Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Woofie is a sweet boy who entered rescue in the spring of 2022 after being surrendered to a shelter at just eight months old. He initially struggled with anxiety and needed kind guidance to build his confidence. In July 2023, he participated in the Happy Hounds Prison Dog Program, receiving training in leash walking, basic obedience, and socializing with other dogs. Woofie completed his time in the program and now dreams of finding a forever home. His anxiety has improved significantly, and he does well with select dogs after a careful introduction. Woofie thrives with ongoing support, patience, and ongoing training. He is neutered, current on all vaccines and preventatives, and microchipped. Woofie’s best fit will be an adopter who can offer a calm environment, continued training, and a home without young children. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
